Coming Soon - Test your services in the OtaSizzle community!

In OtaSizzle service developers can experiment their services in a trusted environment. Discover what users think about your service and what should be improved. Our focus is on experimenting mobile and social media services. OtaSizzle utilizes a holistic combination of emerging and traditional data collection methods. We aim to provide a research instrument that can see further and deeper. OtaSizzle panellists who try out new services are a tech savvy and well networked group of students of the Aalto University in Finland.

User involvement

OtaSizzle experiments heavily encourage user participation in improving services. Our view is that users should not be guinea-pigs from who we extract data, but partners who we collaborate with to make better services. We keep this in mind during all the stages of experimentation. Enthusiastic users can even join in developing new features and functionality (for open source services).

Data collection methods

OtaSizzle utilizes mainly two data collection methods:

1. Handset-based measurements
2. Background surveys

Handset based measurements capture usage where it happens right when it happens. It's a non-intrusive way to get accurate data of service usage patterns, service adoption and time/location context. This objective data is complemented by background surveys that inform us of users intentions, insights, satisfaction levels and background.
